"Bonjour" I heard Jamie bellow in his deep voiced fashion at the post lady. Then step by steady step he mounted the stairs and presented me with a PARCEL WRAPPED IN BROWN PAPER!!!!! My most favourite kind.
"For me!" I said trying not to hide my excitement one bit.
"Of course" he said and pottered off leaving me to savour the unwrapping of said gift.
I took a little time to guess who it was off. I recognised my beautiful cousin Diane's handwriting by the C, strangely enough. I guessed before looking at the return address. It's more fun that way.
Then I ripped it open in a frenzy. (Hoping it wasn't an early christmas gift that I'd have to wait 6 weeks and 2 days to open.) The inner wrapper was not in the least bit christmasy so I continued with the opening frenzy to discover a heavily parcel taped up box. Pause for scissor search and then on with the opening........
The utter delight of an ....IRON!!!!
Finally an iron!
Eeeh mother your daughter!
Just minutes before the post lady had arrived I'd been sat cutting and pinning a little creation for someone's christmas stocking and thinking.."so i'll take this to Erica's and iron it and then...."
No , no I won't dear blogfriendly readers I will do it myself in the comfort of my own art room. Ah these simple pleasures are the best.
(so forget the ironing Erica it'll just be coffee and biscuits like usual)
Bless Diane's lovely heart. The parcel also indulged my stationary fettish with a most delicious PINK PEN. (Funnily enough I'd admired Maggali's pink pen just on wednesday!)
So my joy continues. As you can see above the pen was a breast cancer awareness pen, a subject close to my own motherless heart.
So now does this mean I have to iron EVERYTHING..........?
