happiness

image and text copyright and sole property of Jo Marsden
happiness for me is the simple things in life
hanging out white fresh washing in the sunshine
the sounds of birds
my kitties following me round the garden
the lush greenness and colours of garden life
sitting and reading, writing and listening
pieces of life and the gentleness therein
home and waddling around as i grow our baby
what a lovely year and a lovely day

It must be so creatively inspiring to live in hawai'i!
One day we will go, me and my little family.....sail the seas to a new land. OK so we'll fly but its not quite so romantic sounding.

Trust
Image copyright to me, Jo Marsden. Todays text quoatations are taken from "Our Daily Bread" and written by Marvin Williams. The bible version I have used is "The Living Bible". Our daily bread is part of RBC ministries.
God has been calling me to trust Him over a certain issue and I have been stubbornly refusing. I know how dare I ? but we are stubborn human creatures are we not! So today I finally trusted Him over it and now I have to "wait". As thats what He says to do. So i wait. I am getting good practise at waiting. It sounds like such an easy thing to do but it isnt. But I am doing it.
Today's ODB was so direct i wanted to blog it.
Here are parts of it!
"Exodus 15v22-27.
....If you have a seemingly impossible need today, remember that the hand that supplied your greatest need-forgiveness of sin. is the same hand that can adequately supply all your needs.
TRUST HIM TO ACCOMPLISH THINGS THAT SEEM IMPOSSIBLE.
"When our problems overwhelm us,
God wants us to loook to HIM
He provides the right solutions-
lighting paths that once were dim"
poem by Sper. ODB.
Impossibilites compel us to rely on God"
How apt is all this when I have felt Him pulling and calling at my heart and repeatedly saying "trust me" so I am. I may have to give him the issue repeatedly as it comes to mind and therefore kind of continue to re-trust Him, but I will and I do.

pink plastic chairs

all images and text copyrigha nd sole property of J.R.Marsden
Plastic pink chairs,
and a world of perspective,
not money, nor power,
but time, love reflective.
Not money, or fame,
but pretty lttle things,
like flowers and loveliness,
one chance is no game.
Contentment is things not manmade,
things money cant buy,
in love, life and laughter,
things sent from on high!

Lessons

all images and text copyright and sole property of J.R.Marsden
original phraze idea taken from Michael Card "Our journey" ODB publication
Rest in the Lord with the abscence of haste and trust in His timing in all things!
and repeat,
slowly, with the abscence of haste, meditate on each word.
Rest.
in .
the.
Lord.
with.
the.
abscence.
of.
haste.
and .
trust.
in.
His.
timing.
in.
all.
things.
oh what a relief!
and relax,
breathe and walk slowly into the day.
Or perhaps lie down again.
yes, lie down.
If God isn't currently teaching me to rest in Him and Trust IN Him
then im as deaf as a spiritually blind post.
What a beautiful day.
Thank you God for trundling beetles and playful, relaxed, gently purring kitties with food and sunshine and rolling about on their minds.
Oh to be a kitty!

Street scenes, horses in red and the men in blue!

all images copyright Jooanne marsden
While out walking one day, this is the street scene my gorgeous man and I encountered in the tiny streets of our little french village.
It contrasted so greatly to a street scene a friend of ours had captured in Gloucester, England. That I had to blog it together.
I quote him.
"Shot the police out the bedroom window last night, a tad slow at half a second F2-5, but was impressed to see one cop knock my nasty neightbour out cold in the blink of an eye and sadly too fast for my reactions, oh well. The whole family was arrested quite entertaining ."
Oh the lives we lead.

Happy Mothers Day, Happy Womens Day!

All images and text copyright Joanne Marsden.
Happy Mothers Day,
Happy Womens Day.
To one's present and one's past.
To women with babies,
and women without,
Thank you for the joy we share,
Thank you for the love that lasts.
I can't find the exact bible verse that I want to add here but it goes along these lines .
Jesus' mum and brothers came to see him. Someone said to him that they were waiting outside to see him. They couldn't reach him for the crowd around him in the bulding.
Jesus' reply was "Who are my mother and brothers, but those around me here who love me."
I don't believe he was rejecting his birth family i believe he was making another point on life and love.
My mum died eleven years ago today.
I was 21. We were very close and had a wonderful friendship. There is not a day goes by where she is not present in my heart. She was a good woman who filled me with good things.
For those others without mothers, I send you hope. The pain changes, as does life. It does become easier, the pain less sharp. No it doesn't actually leave. But there is a point where we must let go and live.
As I get older and new events take shape, I miss her still and want to share all these things. Small and big. She knew this. She wrote me a book before she died. In it she said "My sorrow is for you."
I didn't realise what she meant at the time. As she lay there in pain, dying, yet hurting for ME. I do now, oh the love of a mother!
I trust God and can only speak as someone who has travelled this journey with Him. I trust His decision to take her. He did not leave me alone. Along the way, He has provided much mothering, much loving. He has guided me, carried me through pain, grief and happiness. In and through everything. He has provided mothering for me in all shapes and sizes.
Even my little sister who is now 14, (we share our dad, she has her own mother) sometimes manages to mother my heart in its brokeness. In families, friends, in Jamie (my other half) so many people along my way.
He did not leave me alone.
My life is filled with richness and love.
Thank you Father for everything.

Tiara of Salvation

all images and text copyright J.R.Marsden
In this world in which we live,
I put my hand in his to fight.
I clothe myself in armour bright.
belt, breastplate,shoes, and tiara light.
Clothed in Him, I stand not alone.
joined by others in a battle already won.
Walk we must through shadow and fright.
Dark as night.
but we have the light.
Take heart , join hands in this spiritual fight!

Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.scripture quotation from the "Holy bible:new international version". copyright 1973,1978,1984 by international bible society.Zondervan publishing house

Luno sweet Luno.

image and text copyright Joanne Marsden.
Amazing egg puppet created by Erica Zoltan Sapir (who is currently in Bosnia using him in "non-violent communication" workshops.. see marrionettes sans frontiers and puppetteers without borders on my succulent sites.)
Luno sweet Luno.
Little man of the egg.
will you come out today?
will you come out and play?
Oh Luno sweet Luno,
Little man of the egg.
grumpy? If so, get a cat and pray.
I woke up this morning on the wrong side of bed. Actually i woke up in the middle.
I felt motherless, grumpy and alone. Truly I blame it on hormones and the full moon. It was too early to ring anyone , well nearly everyone. So I sat and watched the pink hues of dawn from my darkened morning room. In my melancholy I prayed a simple "o, Lord".
He took this as an invite. He sent my Pantalaimon kitty running to me saying "meow"
I said i really thought you being french you'd say something else or at least have an accent. but No she said "meow " again, so i followed her to the fire, where she told me to sit and she jumped up on my knee and purred softly. She curled herself around my hand. As she sat on my knee, I sat on God's knee. I felt him pour in His love and comfort and i had a litttle cry. Soon i felt warm inside and out and I felt better. Whole again, not grumpy and my litle poems flooded back to me. Here is one above with Erica's pupppet.Thank you Lord.
