Street scenes, horses in red and the men in blue!

all images copyright Jooanne marsden

While out walking one day, this is the street scene my gorgeous man and I encountered in the tiny streets of our little french village.
It contrasted so greatly to a street scene a friend of ours had captured in Gloucester, England. That I had to blog it together.
I quote him.
"Shot the police out the bedroom window last night, a tad slow at half a second F2-5, but was impressed to see one cop knock my nasty neightbour out cold in the blink of an eye and sadly too fast for my reactions, oh well. The whole family was arrested quite entertaining ."
Oh the lives we lead.

Happy Mothers Day, Happy Womens Day!

All images and text copyright Joanne Marsden.

Happy Mothers Day,
Happy Womens Day.
To one's present and one's past.
To women with babies,
and women without,
Thank you for the joy we share,
Thank you for the love that lasts.
I can't find the exact bible verse that I want to add here but it goes along these lines .
Jesus' mum and brothers came to see him. Someone said to him that they were waiting outside to see him. They couldn't reach him for the crowd around him in the bulding.
Jesus' reply was "Who are my mother and brothers, but those around me here who love me."
I don't believe he was rejecting his birth family i believe he was making another point on life and love.
My mum died eleven years ago today.
I was 21. We were very close and had a wonderful friendship. There is not a day goes by where she is not present in my heart. She was a good woman who filled me with good things.
For those others without mothers, I send you hope. The pain changes, as does life. It does become easier, the pain less sharp. No it doesn't actually leave. But there is a point where we must let go and live.
As I get older and new events take shape, I miss her still and want to share all these things. Small and big. She knew this. She wrote me a book before she died. In it she said "My sorrow is for you."
I didn't realise what she meant at the time. As she lay there in pain, dying, yet hurting for ME. I do now, oh the love of a mother!
I trust God and can only speak as someone who has travelled this journey with Him. I trust His decision to take her. He did not leave me alone. Along the way, He has provided much mothering, much loving. He has guided me, carried me through pain, grief and happiness. In and through everything. He has provided mothering for me in all shapes and sizes.
Even my little sister who is now 14, (we share our dad, she has her own mother) sometimes manages to mother my heart in its brokeness. In families, friends, in Jamie (my other half) so many people along my way.
He did not leave me alone.
My life is filled with richness and love.
Thank you Father for everything.
